1.5-OHM points style coil.. (can be used with other distributors) The 44 is oil-filled for better cooling and voltage insulation, This also gives high spark output with electronic or points distributors, 6 or 12 volt negative or positive ground. Always check you have the correct coil for your application. Stromberg E-Fire distributors should be used with a 1.5-Ohm coil and NO external ballast resistor. PLEASE NOTE: Stromberg recommends a 1.5 Ohm coil. DO NOT use a low-resistance (less than 1.5 Ohms) or HEI-style coil with their distributors.
